Korroboree online school will not be based on ‘grades, scores, and memory’. It will be based on authentic child-driven ‘performances of understanding’. When learners find the process of learning an exciting adventure and do not fear making mistakes, they develop a growth mindset and grit.

As part of my series, I connected with thought leaders from across the world. One such person I spoke to was Marisa Peer who is a world-renowned speaker, Rapid Transformational Therapy trainer and best-selling author.

According to her children are supposed to be who they authentically are. Not what parents, school and society want them to be. Children need to be and feel loved and ‘enough’ not because of the grades, awards and accolades they earn, but because we were all born ‘whole’ and ‘enough’ and worthy of love. My philosophy of learning has always been that the purpose of being 3 is to enjoy being 3… and not to get ready for becoming 25. Each day of learning must be joyful, meaningful and effective.

In fact, I founded Korroboree online school to help children thrive and live authentically.

We have all come across the terms conscious and subconscious mind at some point in our lives. Our subconscious brain has something called the homeostatic impulse, which regulates our physical functions like body temperature, blood pressure, etc. Brian Tracy explains: the autonomic nervous system, [our homeostatic impulse] maintains a balance among the hundreds of chemicals in billions of cells so that our entire physical machine functions in complete harmony most of the time

What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness is being aware of what you’re sensing, thinking, and feeling in the moment, without interpretation or judgment. Being mindful takes effort and brain training if you have not grown up being mindful about mindfulness. It is a conscious focusing of one’s thoughts, feelings and actions.
